Are you an experienced or recently graduated social worker and wish to become more specialised in a dedicated field of practice?
The children with disability team could help you achieve this.
Successful candidates will be supported to further develop their knowledge of social work practice with vulnerable children, including the principles of care and support, child protection and court work; developing an enhanced knowledge of a range of different disabilities, they will gain an understanding of the benefits and challenges of multi-agency working; provided opportunity to develop their existing skills and knowledge.The Children with disability teams work with children from the age of 0-18 years with a permanent and substantial disability, this opportunity enables the successful candidate to develop their expertise and knowledge within the field of disability with a wide age range of individuals, focusing upon working with children, their families and carers.This is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive team. You will be committed to improving outcomes for children and promote the child’s wishes and feelings in line with what matters. Caerphilly has adopted an agile approach to working all necessary equipment to enable this is provided. Office cover is arranged on a rota basis through the working week. Caerphilly is also pro-active in staff development and supports the CPEL framework of career development for registered social workers.

You must possess a Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor and be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales (or able to transfer from another recognised body). The current registration requirements state that completion of the Consolidation of Practice qualification within your first 3 years of practice is mandatory (if you qualified after 1st April 2016). Failure to successfully complete this qualification will result in you being unable to renew your Social Work Registration or practice as a Social Worker.
